Reading is Fundamental (RIF)
This site has games for the kids to play as well as great learning activities for parents and teachers. This is also the official website for the RIF program that helps to make it possible for Dolland to give away free books to all Dolland students three times each year.
Starfall
A great site for fun learning games --especially for Kindergarteners, 1st graders and 2nd graders.
Study Island
A great site where your 2nd through 5th grade children can work on building skills to meet California State Standards while playing games and having fun too. To log on, in most cases your user name will be your child's first name, the first letter of his last name, then a dot, then Dolland. The password will be the child's last name.

A log on for James Garcia would look like this:

User name: JamesG.Dolland
Password: Garcia

Once your child logs into the home page, then click on the subject tab that you wish to work on. Click "Pretest" in oder to begin the pretest for this section. You must complete 10 pretest questions before you will be able to move on to another topic.

Once you complete the pretest, you may work through the remainder of the topics in any order that you like-as directed by your teacher.

To pass a topic, you must satisfy the topic's passing requirements which are based on a minimum number of questions answered and the minimum percentage correct. A blue ribbon is displayed next to all passed topics.

Another bonus is that most topics have a brief lesson so if the student isn't sure about what to do for a certain topic they can review the lesson next to that topic before they start quizzing or playing games based on that topic.
